Do you write emails in multiple languages and need access to special characters? There are two ways to add these characters to your emails using the email editor.
If you are typing on a Mac:
Long press on the key you want until the special characters option appears on the screen. In this case, I'll long-press on "e" and this is what happens:
Next select your special character by pressing the corresponding number. I'll press the number "2" to select the "é" character.
Having some trouble getting the characters and special accents to work?
These are the methods that work using a Chrome browser or Brave:
Long press + number to select the character (like the instructions above)
Long press + click with your mouse
Copy + paste the special character from another editor
If you are using Safari
Long press + number to select the character (like the instructions above)
Long press + click with your mouse
Keyboard input
Copy + paste the special character from another editor
Known issues:
Do not select your characters by using the "tab" key, arrow keys, or by using the accent modifier key. There is currently a known issue with our editor that will prevent the special character from remaining on the page if selected using either of these two options. Use one of the number keys instead.
If you are typing on a PC:
Option 1: Open the Windows emoji keyboard by holding down the Windows key + the period key.
You'll see this pop up:
At the top, click the omega symbol to get to the Symbols list, then the Ç at the bottom to open the Latin Symbols list.
Use your mouse to scroll to and click on the symbol you want and it will be added to your email.
Option 2: Open up the Character Map program on your Windows PC (you can search for this program in the windows search bar on the bottom right).
After you open the program, select the character you want. Click the Select button, and then the Copy button. Finally, paste that character into your email.
