Share your Landing Page
Since we host your Kit Landing Pages, you don't need a website to share your Landing Page with the world—it can exist on its own!
That said, you do have the option to customize your Landing Page's link and/or domain if you choose to.
This article will cover where to find your Landing Page's link, how it'll look by default, as well as its customization options.
Let's dig in!
Where to find your Landing Page link
Click the Share button at the top right of the builder, and your Landing Page's URL will appear.
This URL is generated by default when you create the Landing Page, and it can be customized. (More on that in the next section.)
Click the X, Facebook, and LinkedIn buttons to share your Landing Page's URL as a post on the respective platform. You can customize the post's content before publishing it.
Lastly, you can also use our WordPress plugin to add your Landing Page directly to your website's domain.
Landing Page link customization options
You have several options for customizing your Landing Page link.
Here's an overview of them, from least technical to most technical:
1. Use the default kit.com URL
This option requires no action on your part. Just paste the link from the share pop-up (see the image above), and you're good to go.
TIP: You can customize your Landing Page's domain instead of using what we randomly generated for your account. No need to worry about broken links—your last active domain will automatically redirect.
2. Use your kit.com domain, but customize what comes after the slash
By default, what comes after the slash for a new Landing Page will be a random combination of letters and numbers, but you can customize this to something human-readable.
For example, instead of your Landing Page's URL being your-account-domain.kit.com/a3916708cf
, you can change it to your-account-domain.kit.com/newsletter-signup
.
To do this, click Settings > Domain Name from the Landing Page builder:
Use the Custom Domain dropdown to select which domain to use. Unless you've configured a custom domain or subdomain for your account (see option #3 below), only your kit.com domain will be available for selection.
Use the Page URL to set the text that should come after the slash, and then click Add.
You can have multiple URLs for the same Landing Page. Just repeat these steps to add additional URLs.
3. Use a custom domain (or subdomain)
This allows you to use your custom website domain (e.g., mywebsite.com
/landing-page
) or a subdomain on it (e.g., pages.mywebsite.com
/landing-page
), rather than your account domain (e.g., your-account-domain.kit.com
/landing-page
) as the base for your Landing Page's URL.
We have separate tutorials on this, depending on the website platform you use:
If you've used your domain for a WordPress website, you can use our WordPress plugin to have your Landing Page URL use your WordPress website's domain.
If you use any other website platform (or if your domain doesn't have a website associated with it), you'll need to edit your domain's DNS settings to use it for your Landing Page. This is the most technically advanced option, and we have a tutorial on it here. (You can go this route even if you use WordPress; it's just not required since you can use the WordPress plugin instead.)
