How to Find & Customize Your Landing Page Link

Where to find the shareable URL to your landing page, how it'll look by default, and how to customize it!

Updated this week

So, you've created a landing page. Now it's time to share it!

All of your landing pages are hosted by us, by default. That means you don't even need your own website to be able to share your Kit landing page with the world β€” it can exist on its own!

That said, you do have the option to customize your landing page's link and/or domain, if you choose to.

This article will cover where to find your landing page's link, how it'll look by default, as well as the customization options available for it.

Let's dig in!

Where to find the link to your landing page

You can always access the direct URL to your landing page via the Publish button near the top of the builder:

This URL will be generated by default every time you create a new landing page, and it can be customized. (More on that in the next section.)

The X/Twitter & Facebook buttons will generate new posts for you on each respective platform, using the URL for your landing page as shown in the box. You'll also have the opportunity to customize the posts themselves.

Lastly, you can also use our WordPress plugin to add your landing page directly to your website's domain.

Landing page link customization options

You have several options when it comes to customizing your landing page link! Here's an overview of your options, from least technical to most technical:

1. Use the default kit.com URL we generate

This is always an option, and requires no action on your part! Just paste the link from the share dropdown (see GIF above), and you're good to go.

TIP: You can customize the first part of your account domain (your kit.com domain) from your account settings instead of using what we randomly generated for your account. No need to worry about broken links β€” your last active domain will automatically redirect.

2. Use your kit.com domain but customize what comes after the slash

By default, what comes after the slash for a new landing page will be a random combination of letters & numbers, but you can customize this to something human-readable.

For example, instead of your-account-domain.kit.com/a3916708cf, you could change it to your-account-domain.kit.com/landing-page (or whatever text you want to come after the slash).

To do that, click Settings > Domain Name from the landing page builder. Before you make any changes, the modal will look like this by default:

  • Under Custom Domain is where you select which domain to use. Unless you've configured a custom domain or subdomain for your account (see option #3 below), only your kit.com domain will be available for selection from this dropdown.

  • Under Page URL is where you set the text that should come after the slash.

You can also have multiple URLs for the same landing page! Just replicate those same steps to add additional URLs.

3. Use a custom domain (or subdomain)

This allows you to use your custom website domain (e.g. mywebsite.com/landing-page) or a subdomain on it (e.g. pages.mywebsite.com/landing-page), rather than your account domain (e.g. your-account-domain.kit.com/landing-page) as the base for your landing page's URL.

We have separate dedicated tutorials on this, depending on what website platform you use:

  • If your domain is used for a WordPress website, you can do this easily via our plugin! We have a tutorial on that here.

  • If you use any other website platform (or if your domain doesn't have a website associated with it), you'll need to make some changes to your domain's DNS settings to be able use it for your Kit landing pages. This is the most technically-advanced option, and we have a dedicated tutorial on that process here. (You can still go this route even if you use WordPress; it's just not required since it's possible via the plugin instead.)
