Troubleshooting the ConvertKit WordPress plugin

Updated over a week ago

Having trouble with the ConvertKit WordPress plugin?

Here are solutions to some common plugin issues.

My dropdown menu is missing some Forms or Landing Pages

Click the refresh icon next to the relevant dropdown menu to get the latest list of Forms or Landing Pages:

If your Form or Landing Page still doesn't appear in the dropdown menu, try disconnecting and reconnecting the integration.

My WordPress page isn't showing my ConvertKit Landing Page

In this scenario, you've embedded your ConvertKit Landing Page into a WordPress page but you don't see your ConvertKit Landing Page when you navigate to the WordPress page's URL.

If so:

  1. Make sure the page is completely blank. There should be no content on it at all

  2. Check that the Form dropdown is set to "None"

  3. Ensure the Landing Page dropdown is set to the Landing Page you want to show

The plugin will be able to load the Landing Page in place of the WordPress page only if these three conditions are all met.

If the plugin detects any content on the Page or has to load a ConvertKit Form on it, it will not display the Landing Page.

My embedded Form looks or behaves wrong

Depending on where the Form is embedded or the method used to embed it, its styles may be conflicting with your site's design styles.

Try embedding your Form using its Javascript embed code and embedding it lower on the page (even in the footer if it's a modal or slide-in Form). This will reduce the chances of your Form encountering style conflicts.

My Form doesn't appear upon button click

There are two common reasons for this.

If you made your button using the WordPress theme's customization interface, this usually won't work since most themes don't allow the adding of attributes to buttons—which are needed for the Form to appear.

In this case, set up your button by adding a ConvertKit Form Trigger block instead.

The second most common issue is that the Form's Javascript embed is missing. Even though you've added a link attribute that triggers the Form, you'll still need to embed the Form's code itself on the page. Otherwise, clicking the button may open the Form in a new tab.
