The Velocity dashboard in Insights tells you how quickly you’re converting users to subscribers and customers.
You can also get velocity data for specific user segments—like subscribers with certain Tags or custom fields—to analyze which segments are generating value for your creator business sooner.
Use the options above the Velocity dashboard to:
Group your data by a specific time interval, i.e., on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis
Choose the date range for which you want to get data
Understanding the Velocity dashboard
Visitors
The number of unique people who have visited your website within the specified date range. Visitors are a combination of anonymously tracked users as well as identified subscribers.
NOTE: The visitor count isn’t affected by your subscribers or orders filters.
Signups
The number of new subscribers you gained within the specified date range.
NOTE: The signup count isn’t affected by your subscribers or orders filters.
Purchase Rate
Formula: Number of customers / Number of subscribers x 100%.
The rate at which your subscribers convert into customers within the specified date range. The higher your purchase rate, the more effective your efforts to convert subscribers are.
Time to Purchase
Formula: Order Created – Customers Created.
The average amount of time a subscriber takes to become a customer. This is the time between the date they first subscribed to your list and the date they made their first purchase.
Time to Signup
Formula: Customers Created – First Visit Date.
The average amount of time a website visitor takes to become a subscriber. This is the time between their first visit to your website and the date they first subscribed to your list.
A longer time to sign up indicates that your landing page can be improved to drive higher newsletter signup rates.
Conversion Velocity
Your subscribers’ signup values over time based on both their first click and the click that resulted in a purchase.
Signup Value Cohorts
Track the value of each month’s cohort of subscribers over the last 12 months to see whether this value is increasing or decreasing over time. Ideally, this number should increase over the months your subscribers stay on your list.
You can also compare the signup values of different monthly cohorts after they’ve been subscribers for a certain number of months. For example, the value of your subscribers six months after they signed up in March 2023, versus the value of the subscribers you gained in June 2023 at the same Month 6-mark.
Customer Segmentation
Visualize your customers based on segments like their subscription status, Tags, or custom fields.
Larger segments (containing a larger number of customers) will occupy bigger areas of the report.
