Learn how to track sales in Insights.

Updated this week

The Sales dashboard in Insights provides in-depth data on your ConvertKit Commerce sales.

For example, you can discover your top-selling products, average order values, top customers, and more.

Use the options above the Sales dashboard to:

  • Group your data by a specific time interval, i.e., on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis

  • Choose the date range for which you want to get data

Understanding the Sales dashboard

Sales

The number of ConvertKit Commerce products you sold within the specified date range.

NOTE: A single order may include the sale of multiple products.

Revenue

The amount of gross revenue you’ve made from all orders over the specified date range. Gross revenue is the dollar value of the total sales you've made before deduction of any fees.

Avg Order Qty

Formula: Number of line items / Number of orders

The average order quantity, or the average number of products in each order received within the specified date range.

AOV

Formula: Revenue / Number of sales

The average order value, or the average amount of money customers spent on each order you received within the specified date range.

Customer Value

Formula: Revenue / Number of customers.

The average amount of revenue customers spent with you over the specified date range. You can use this value to calculate your advertising budget for driving new customers to your products.

Top Products

The list of your top-selling products over the specified date range, including the quantity of each product sold and total revenue generated from each product.

You can click each column to sort its values by ascending or descending order.

Revenue

A chart of the amount of revenue you’ve made over the specified date range, according to your preferred time interval (e.g., daily, weekly, or monthly).

It’ll also show the payment type, like one-time payments, subscription payments, and installment payments.

Revenue by Source

This graph and table will show you how much revenue is generated, how many purchases were made, and the average order value per the first-touch attribution model.

You can filter this view by channel, page, and other acquisition channels, UTM campaigns, and UTM sources.

Product Grouping

This graph shows you which products are often purchased by the same customer. This will let you know which products are best bundled together to increase the average order value and drive more revenue for your business.

Revenue Breakdown

Get a breakdown of the revenue, purchases, and average order values you’re getting from various tagged segments. This way, you have more insights into the segments of subscribers to pitch to to drive more revenue.

These tagged segments include subscribers with certain Tags, statuses (i.e., subscribed or unsubscribed), or custom fields.

You can click each column to sort its values by ascending or descending order and see which tagged segments are bringing you the most sales.

Top Customers

A list of your top five customers with the highest lifetime values (LTVs) for the specified date range.

Lifetime value refers to the total revenue a customer has generated for your business throughout their time as your subscriber.

For each of these top customers, you’ll find their email address, subscription date, and the products they’ve purchased. This is a great list of people to reach out to when you have a new product you want to test, or interview to build out your customer persona.

Product Chain

The sequence in which customers tend to buy your products. It’s helpful for deciding the order in which you want to pitch your products to generate the most sales.

You can click each column to sort its values by ascending or descending order.
