Tagging subscribers who clicked a link in an email

How to retroactively perform a bulk action on all of the subscribers who clicked a particular link.

Updated this week

At any point, you can perform bulk actions on the subscribers who clicked a link in one of your emails.

For the purposes of this tutorial, we'll be adding a Tag, but you can perform any other bulk action by following these same steps.

NOTE: This is a manual workaround. Setting up a Link Trigger is actually our #1 recommendation for accomplishing this, because it's automatic! πŸ™Œ

If, however, you need to track link clicks retroactively, or your intended Link Trigger didn't fire for some reason, read on.

When you perform an action following the method outlined in this article, it will only apply to those who had already clicked the link at the point at which you perform the action.

For links in Broadcasts

Go to the Broadcasts page and click the Broadcast containing the relevant link.

This will load the Broadcast's reports. From here, select the Clicks report.

You'll see a list of links in your email.

Click the link for which you want to see which subscribers have clicked it.

You'll be taken to a page with the list of subscribers who clicked that link. (The list is under the subscriber graph, so scroll down the page if you don't see the list.)

Finally, use a bulk action to add a Tag to all these subscribers.

For links in Sequences

Go to the Sequences page and click the Sequence containing the relevant link.

Then, click Reports at the top right of the Sequence editor.

You'll see a list of emails in that Sequence. Click the specific email that contains the relevant link.

From there, select Clicks in the right sidebar of that Sequence email's reports.

Locate the link for which you want to see which subscribers have clicked it.

Then, go to the Subscribers column for that link and click the number of subscribers who had clicked it.

You'll be taken to a page with the list of subscribers who clicked that link. (The list is under the subscriber graph, so scroll down the page if you don't see the list.)

Finally, use a bulk action to add a Tag to all these subscribers.
