How to keep track of and email your Creator Network subscribers

Other creators in the Creator Network have sent subscribers your way! Now what? Here are some tips.

Updated over a week ago

Did you get subscribers from the Creator Network? We love to see it.

View all the subscribers you've gained from the Creator Network by clicking the Subscribers tab in your Recommendations settings.

Want to email these subscribers? Here are some options:

Welcome Creator Network subscribers with an automated email

Using a Visual Automation, you can automatically welcome Creator Network subscribers to your community after they've signed up.

But if you'd prefer to create your Visual Automation from scratch, start a blank new Visual Automation and set its entry point as when subscribers join your "Creator Network" Form.

NOTE: The "Creator Network" Form won't appear in the Landing Pages & Forms page of your Kit account, but you can use it to select your Creator Network subscribers.

Next, set up a Visual Automation action that adds subscribers to the welcome email Sequence you want your Creator Network subscribers to receive.

That's the end of the basic setup, but you can add more steps to your Visual Automation as you need.

NOTE: Similarly, you can set up an Automation Rule that triggers when subscribers join your email list via the Creator Network.

Send a Broadcast to your Creator Network subscribers

You can also send Broadcasts to your Creator Network subscribers.

Just create the Broadcast and select the subscribers of your "Creator Network" Form as the Broadcast's recipients.

Customize your email content based on the referring creator

Display custom email content based on which creator had referred the subscriber to you. This helps remind the subscriber who had recommended you, and is also useful for showing exclusive content.

To mention the referring creator, insert this Liquid tag in your email:

{{ subscriber.recommendations.referrer.name }}

For example:

"You're receiving this email because you subscribed after being recommended by {{ subscriber.recommendations.referrer.name }}. Great to have you!"

NOTE: In case we don't have data on the referring creator's name, you can use this advanced Liquid tag, which has a fallback option, instead:

"You're receiving this email because you subscribed after being recommended by {% if subscriber.recommendations.referrer.name %}{{ subscriber.recommendations.referrer.name }}{% else %}another awesome newsletter{% endif %}."

This way, if the referring creator's name isn't available, your email will read: "You're receiving this email because you subscribed after being recommended by another awesome newsletter."

To display exclusive content for subscribers recommended by specific creators, add a Personalization content block to your email.

Click the + icon to the left of the email editor or type "/personalization."

Then, click the Choose a referrer dropdown menu under the Creator Network referrer conditional option.

NOTE: If you don't see the Creator Network referrer conditional option, check that you haven't turned your Recommendations off.

Select the creator for whom you want to show exclusive content, followed by Add to Email.

The {% if subscriber.recommendations.referrer.id == "abc123" %} Content unique to referrer {{ subscriber.recommendations.referrer.name }}. {% endif %} Liquid tag will be added to your email.

Replace Content unique to referrer {{ subscriber.recommendations.referrer.name }}. with your exclusive content.

You may not see your exclusive content if you preview your email or send yourself a test email. This is because only subscribers who've been recommended by the creator can see it.

To see your exclusive content, use the Preview as subscriber setting to preview your email using the email address of a subscriber who was recommended by that creator:

Managing your Creator Network subscribers

You can take actions like bulk-tagging, bulk-deleting, and exporting a list of your Creator Network subscribers from your Recommendations settings' Subscribers page.
