Kit's Free plan gives you up to 10,000 email subscribers, unlimited forms and landing pages, and unlimited email broadcasts at no cost. Here's what's included, what needs a paid plan, and how to move between them.
What's included on the Free plan
The Free plan costs $0 per month for as long as you stay under 10,000 subscribers. It includes:
Up to 10,000 email subscribers
Unlimited forms and landing pages
Unlimited email broadcasts
Audience tagging and segmentation
Digital products and subscriptions, so you can sell straight from your list
A/B testing on your broadcasts
Free Recommendations through the Creator Network
API access
What needs a paid plan
The Free plan is built around growing your list. These features live on the Creator and Creator Pro plans:
Visual automations and the automation template library
Email sequences
Rules and RSS campaigns
Kit MCP
Paid apps in the Kit App Store. Free apps are still available to you
Smart Recommendations
Earning from Paid Recommendations
You can still open the Visual Automations and Email Sequences pages and look around. When you go to create one, you'll see your upgrade options.
The Creator Network on the Free plan
You're enrolled in the Creator Network when you sign up, so other creators can recommend your newsletter and you can recommend theirs. It's one of the quickest ways to build a list from scratch.
You can turn it off anytime in your Creator Network settings, and nothing else about your Free plan changes if you do. Earning from Paid Recommendations needs a paid plan.
How to get started
Pick the Free plan on the Kit pricing page to create your account.
Importing your existing list
You can bring your subscribers with you. Follow the guide on how to import a subscriber list, and keep your total under 10,000 to stay on the Free plan.
When you pass 10,000 subscribers
You'll need to upgrade to a paid plan to keep sending. Everything you've built stays exactly where it is, and automations, sequences, and the rest of the paid features unlock as soon as you upgrade.
Moving to the Free plan from a paid plan
You can switch to the Free plan anytime from your billing settings. See how to downgrade your plan for the steps.
If you're on a paid plan, you keep your paid features until the end of your current billing period. If you're on a trial, access to paid features ends as soon as you switch.
Anything you built on a paid plan stays in your account. Visual automations and sequences stop running while you're on the Free plan, and you'll get them back when you upgrade again.
Support on the Free plan
Support is available on every Kit plan, Free included. Requests from Free plan accounts are answered in the order they're received within 24 hours.
