Leadpages integration

Connect your Leadpages to ConvertKit to collect subscribers!

Updated this week

Connecting ConvertKit for the first time

The first thing you'll need to do is get ConvertKit and Leadpages talking. That means adding your ConvertKit API Key into Leadpages.

To do that, follow these steps in Leadpages:

  1. In your account dashboard, click Integrations.

  2. Select ConvertKit from the list.

  3. Go to your ConvertKit account's Developer settings. Copy the V3 API Key you find there to your clipboard.

  4. Back in Leadpages, paste the V3 API Key into the corresponding field. Name your integration, and then click Connect.

  5. After the API information is verified (which should be instantaneous), the integration's status will show as "Connected."

NOTE: You must have at least one Form in your ConvertKit account before you can go any further. Make sure to create one if you haven't yet!

Hooking it all up

Now, let's sync your Leadpages leads to ConvertKit.

  1. Create your Leadpages landing page. When you hover your mouse over the page's email form, you'll see a menu pop up at the top. In that menu, click Edit Integrations. The Integrations panel will slide in from the left.

  2. In that panel, you'll see the first tab labeled Integrations. It has a section that says "Choose where you want form data to go." By default, that section is populated with an item named "Lead Notifications," which is the default location where Leadpages will send subscriber data. Beneath that item, click + Add an Integration.

  3. A menu will open. Since you already integrated ConvertKit with Leadpages earlier, ConvertKit will show in the list. Click the ConvertKit option. (If you haven't integrated ConvertKit yet, you can do so now by clicking the + More Services button and adding your V3 API Key using the steps described above.)

  4. In the dropdown menu that appears after clicking ConvertKit, choose the ConvertKit Form you want to send subscribers to. Wait for the menu to update to show a checkmark so you know your Form has been connected.

  5. At this point, you can remove the default "Lead Notifications" connection if you wish.

That's it! Your Leadpages email form will now send subscribers to its connected ConvertKit Form.

OPTIONAL: The second tab of the Integrations menu is Fields. If you like, you can add a First Name field here to capture that information as well. At this time, the integration accepts only Email and First Name data.

FAQs

Do I have to use Leadpages's Drag & Drop Builder?

The ConvertKit direct integration is supported on both Leadpages's Drag & Drop Builder and Standard Builder. But the steps above only cover the Drag & Drop Builder since it's the latest Leadpages interface.

Where should I put my thank-you page?

You will add your thank-you page in your Leadpages settings. NOT in ConvertKit.

Can I link a ConvertKit Form to multiple Leadpages email forms?

Yes, you can. But we recommend creating a new ConvertKit Form for EVERY Leadpages email form whose subscribers you want to sync to ConvertKit. This way, you'll be able to track which subscribers came from each Leadpages email form.

You don't need to design these ConvertKit Forms since your subscribers see only your Leadpage and not your ConvertKit Form. But you'll need to edit any ConvertKit settings that affect your subscribers' experience with your marketing emails. These include the settings for sending subscribers:

I connected to Leadpages's Standard Builder the old way.

We recommend reconnecting via API using the instructions above.
