Enhance your email content with emojis and GIFs.
Creating a personal connection can be incredibly important in building an engaged email list. While your email content itself goes a long way towards achieving this goal, sometimes you might want a little extra touch.
Enter: Emojis & GIFs
It's super simple to add both of these to your content, and they're a great way to add some extra personality to your emails.
☝️ PRO-TIP: These are fun, but overusing them can risk distracting from your content itself. You don't want that! We recommend using these elements sparingly & strategically — consider a maximum of 1 GIF per email and 1 emoji per paragraph.
Emojis
Keyboard shortcut
Use the keyboard shortcut ⌘ + ⌃ + Spacebar (Command + Control + Spacebar) if you use a Mac or Windows logo key + . (period) if you use Windows. This opens up an Emoji keyboard (as well as a keyboard for other special characters!) that looks like this:
Simply click on the emoji you'd like to use to insert it into your content!
Alternatives
If you dpn't want to use the keyboard shortcut, copy the emoji from a website like this one, and then paste it directly into your email.
Animated GIFs
1. Locate the GIF you'd like to use
GIPHY is a great resource for this!
2. Save the image as a GIF file
You can do this by right-clicking on it > "Save Image As..."
NOTE: Make sure you save it as a GIF, and not any other filetype!
3. Upload the GIF to your email
You can upload an animated GIF file the same way as you would upload any other image to the email editor.
That's it.
Now you can add emojis & GIFs to your emails with ease.
