Some countries' laws (e.g., the GDPR) require users to provide opt-in consent to receiving marketing emails.

In other words, users must expressly agree to receive your marketing emails. If you don't get this consent, you can't send them marketing emails.

Our Creator Network Recommendations help you get opt-in consent as needed—with no action on your part.

Here's how this works:

When a user subscribes to a Creator Network creator's Kit Form or Landing Page, we'll display a Recommendations pop-up for the user to subscribe to recommended creators.

If the user is from a country that requires opt-in consent, the boxes next to the recommended creators in the Recommendations pop-up will be unchecked by default:

This way, the user will need to check the relevant boxes—hence providing opt-in consent—for the creators they want to subscribe to. A Subscribe button will then appear for the user to click and complete the subscription process.

In contrast, if opt-in consent is not required, the boxes next to the recommended creators will be checked by default instead:

The user can then uncheck any creators they don't want to subscribe to before clicking Subscribe to subscribe to everyone else.

Can the Recommendation boxes be (un)checked by default?

We automatically check (or uncheck) the Recommendation boxes based on the country we detect the user to be from. This feature cannot be changed.

Why isn't clicking Subscribe sufficient for opt-in consent?

The user's action of clicking Subscribe doesn't necessarily mean they've provided opt-in consent. For example, they might have clicked Subscribe without checking who they're subscribing to.

So, if the user needs to provide opt-in consent, they'll have to take the extra step of checking the Recommendation boxes for the creators they want to subscribe to. This better ensures you get the necessary opt-in consent to send them marketing emails.

Where does this feature work?

This feature works in the Recommendations pop-up that appears after users subscribe to a Creator Network creator's Kit Form or Landing Page.

Places it does not work in include:
