Sync form respondents as subscribers in Kit with automatic tagging (using Visual Automations)
Embed visually rich content blocks that display your form’s welcome screen or first question directly in the email editor, along with a call to action
Trigger automated workflows when someone completes your forms or gives specific answers, creating personalized segmentation and follow-up experiences

How to use the Typeform app
Adding Typeform content blocks to emails
With the Typeform app, you can insert visually rich content blocks that display the welcome screen or first question of your forms, quizzes, or surveys directly in your emails.
Here's how to add your Typeform to your emails:
In the email editor, type
/typeform
and select Typeform to add the Typeform content blockSelect your form: Choose which form, quiz, or survey you want to display from the list in the sidebar
Customize the display:
The content block will automatically display the title from your Typeform's welcome screen. If your form doesn’t have a welcome screen, the content block will display the first question.
Use the Step to show dropdown option to toggle between displaying the welcome screen and the first question
You can also edit:
The text of the welcome message, along with your font choice
The call-to-action button text (e.g., "Start the Quiz", "Click Here", "Take the Survey")
The default block styling will match the theme you've set in Typeform, but you can edit this styling in the content block's settings
Preview and send: Review how your Typeform content block looks before sending
Set up automations based on Typeform responses
Use Visual Automations to create Typeform-related automations
Once you have the Typeform app installed, you'll be able to trigger automations based on form completion and specific question responses.
For example, you can create automations for:
Lead qualification funnels
Quiz result follow-ups
Feedback collection and engagement
Segment subscribers based on their survey responses
We'll show you how you can automate a lead qualification funnel.
Lead qualification funnel
This is perfect for creators who use forms to collect leads and want to segment subscribers based on their responses.
Here's how to set it up:
Go to Visual Automations under the Automate tab in the navigation. Click the + New automation button on the right
Click the Start from scratch button. Your new Automation will open, and you'll be presented with the option to select an entry point
In this modal, select Typeform as your event trigger
Select a form: Choose which Typeform you want to use as a trigger. You'll see a list of your connected Typeform forms.
Choose opt-in logic: Decide how you want to collect email addresses:
Option A: Completes the form (opt in all respondents who complete the form)
Option B: Gives a specific answer (opt in only respondents who give a specific answer to a designated question)
This works for multiple-choice questions or multi-select questions
For example: Opt in only the respondents who answer "Yes" to "Would you like to receive emails from us?"
How respondent syncing and tagging works
When a form is submitted, Kit will:
Capture the respondent's email address (if provided) and sync that email to Kit
If you have multiple email fields set up in your Typeform, Kit will automatically capture the first email field presented
Apply Tags based on:
Completion of the selected form
Specific answers to designated questions
Generating tags and custom fields:
Within the Visual Automation setup, you can generate specific Tags or custom fields based on:
If the respondent completed a specific form (e.g., "typeform_leadgen," or creating a “Typeforms Completed” custom field)
If they responded to a specific question within a specific form (e.g., "interested_in_coaching")
What happens with existing subscribers:
If the email address already exists in Kit, the Tag will be added to their profile
If the email address doesn't exist, it will be added as a new subscriber with the Tag
Typeform troubleshooting
I connected the Typeform app to Kit, but its content block isn't showing up in my email
Make sure you've selected a form from the dropdown in the email editor's sidebar
If the block still doesn't appear, try removing and re-adding it
Try re-installing the Typeform app in the Kit App Store
If that doesn't work, reach out to Kit's support team
My automation isn't triggering when someone completes my form
Verify that you've selected the correct Typeform in your Visual Automation setup
Check that your form is published and active in Typeform
Ensure your Visual Automation is set to Active
Make sure the respondent provided an email address in the form
Tags aren't being applied correctly
Confirm that you've set up the Tag conditions correctly in your Visual Automation
Check that you've followed up the Typeform event node with an action node that adds or updates a Tag to the form respondent’s subscriber profile
The content block styling doesn't match my brand
The content block pulls the theme from your Typeform settings. Update your form theme in Typeform to change how it appears in Kit emails.
