With the Kit Wix app, you can use your Wix data in three powerful ways:
Sync Wix contacts and buyers as subscribers in Kit with automatic Tags and fields
Keep subscriber profiles enriched with key fields from Wix (email, first name, phone, and address)
Trigger automated workflows when someone makes a purchase on your Wix website or store, as well as when someone abandons a checkout
Getting started with Wix
To use the Kit Wix app, you need to:
Have an active Wix site with Contacts enabled
Have a paid Kit account
NOTE: You can connect only one Wix website to your Kit account. If you manage multiple Wix sites, choose the one you want to connect.
How to install the Wix app
Log in to your Kit account
Click Automate > Apps in the top navigation
Find the Wix app and click Install
Sign in with Wix and approve the requested permissions
You’ll land on the Sync preferences screen to choose how you want to import and sync contacts from Wix to Kit
You can also go directly to the Wix app listing to install the app.
How to use the Wix app
Choose your sync preferences (on install)
During the installation, you can choose to enable a historical import and/or an ongoing sync for your subscribers:
Historical import
This is a one‑time import of existing Wix contacts that helps you start with richer subscriber data in Kit.
Active subscribers: Imports all Wix contacts as Kit subscribers and applies relevant Tags and fields
Unsubscribed:
Imports Wix contacts who have previously unsubscribed from your email list and automatically reactivates them in Kit
Purchases:
Imports all contacts’ purchase data into Kit
Ongoing sync
This will automatically create and update subscribers in Kit as new contacts are created in Wix, as forms are submitted, and as purchases are made.
⚠️ IMPORTANT: We don't recommend importing or syncing unsubscribers unless you have renewed consent to email them. Otherwise, you may experience increased bounce or spam complaints, which can hurt your deliverability.
How subscriber sync, tags, and fields work
When a contact is created or updated in Wix, Kit will:
Create or update the subscriber profile in Kit
Apply Tags based on activity
Update core fields on the subscriber profile
Tags applied
Wix_form: Applied to all contacts imported from Wix
Wix_form:[form_name] (for example, Wix_form:newsletter_signup): Applied when someone signs up via a specific Wix form
wix_buyer: Applied when the contact has purchased a product via Wix
Fields imported to the subscriber profile
Email
First name
Phone number (if present)
Address fields (if present)
You can use these Tags and fields to segment your subscribers for sending them targeted Broadcasts or adding them to Visual Automations.
Visual Automations for Wix
With the Wix app installed, you can trigger automations from two Wix event nodes:
Event node: Product Purchased
Use this when you want to start or branch an automation the moment a purchase is completed on your Wix site or store.
Entry trigger: Product Purchased (Wix)
Typical use cases:
New customer onboarding sequence
Post‑purchase cross‑sell or review request
Tagging purchasers for segmentation (e.g., product lines)
Event node: Abandoned Checkout
Automatically follow up with people who entered their email in Wix checkout but did not complete purchase within one hour.
Entry trigger: Abandoned Checkout (Wix)
What happens:
The contact is created as a subscriber in Kit (if not already)
The event fires one hour after email captured with no purchase
Typical use cases:
Two- to three-step recovery sequence with an incentive on the final step
Tip: Add a goal or exit rule so that subscribers leave the recovery flow if they complete a purchase
How to add these in Visual Automations:
Go to Visual Automations and click + New automation
Choose Start from scratch
In the entry selector, choose Event, go to Wix and pick either Product Purchased or Abandoned Checkout
Build your Visual Automation flow and conditions as desired
Wix troubleshooting
I connected the Wix app to Kit but don’t see my contacts
Make sure the Ongoing sync option is enabled on the Sync preferences screen
If you skipped Historical import, you’ll see only contacts created after installation
Tags aren’t appearing the way I expect
Confirm which Wix form created the contact. Form‑specific tags follow the pattern Wix_form:[form_name]
Purchase data isn’t appearing
The wix_buyer Tag is applied when Kit receives a purchase event from Wix. If you installed the app without historical import, only purchases after installation will tag contacts.
Subscriber fields look incomplete
Kit imports address and phone data only if they exist on the Wix contact. Verify those fields are collected on your forms or checkout.
Frequently asked questions
Does the Wix app cost extra?
No, the app does not cost anything extra. You can install it if you are on a paid Kit plan.
Can I import all my existing Wix contacts?
Yes. Enable Historical import during setup to bring in your existing Wix contacts, or leave it off to sync only new activity going forward.
Can I connect multiple Wix sites to my Kit account?
Due to limitations around Wix’s API, this is not currently possible. You may connect only one Wix site to your Kit account.
What Tags will I see in Kit?
You’ll see Wix_form, form‑specific Tags like Wix_form:newsletter_signup, and wix_buyer for purchasers.
Which fields sync from Wix?
The email and first name fields always sync. The address and phone fields will sync when available on the Wix contact.
Can I trigger automations when someone buys?
Yes. Use the wix_buyer Tag as an entry condition in Visual Automations to start a post‑purchase sequence.
