Getting started with Pexels
To use the Kit Pexels app, you simply need to have a paid Kit account. There’s no separate account setup or authentication required for this app.
How to install the Pexels app
That’s it. Once installed, you can start inserting Pexels photos immediately.
How to use the Pexels app
Insert a Pexels photo into an email
Open the email editor (Broadcast or Sequence email)
Type
/pexelsand select Pexels
Search for a photo using keywords (for example, “coffee”, “workspace”, or “sunset”)
Click a photo to insert it into your email
Customize the display of your photo
After inserting a Pexels photo, use the content block settings in the sidebar to adjust the look and feel:
Width: Adjust the photo width
Crop: Choose None or Square
Corner radius: Add curved, rounded, or customized corners
Alignment: Choose how the photo aligns in the email
Border: Adjust border width and border color
Automatic photo attribution
Every Pexels photo you insert will automatically include credit to the photographer at the bottom of the content block.
Frequently asked questions
Does the Pexels app cost extra?
No, the app does not cost anything extra. You can install it if you are on a paid Kit plan.
Do I need a Pexels account to use this app?
No. There’s no separate Pexels account setup or authentication needed.
Can I use these photos commercially?
Pexels provides royalty-free photos. If you have questions about licensing for a specific use case, please review Pexels’ licensing terms.
Will the email include attribution automatically?
Yes. The photographer credit is automatically included at the bottom of the Pexels content block.
Pexels troubleshooting
I typed /pexels but don’t see the Pexels option
Confirm the Pexels app is installed in your Kit account
Refresh the page and try again
Search isn’t returning results
Try simpler keywords (for example, “dog” instead of “golden retriever in snow”)
Check your internet connection, then try again
My image looks cropped or sized incorrectly
Use the sidebar settings to adjust width and crop type
If you want to preserve the full image, choose no crop
