See where an Email Sequence is used

How to view the Used in page for an Email Sequence, and how it helps you see the email marketing assets you've set up to use that Sequence.

The Used in page for an Email Sequence shows the Automations, Rules, and legacy Forms and Landing Pages set up to use that Sequence.

The page helps you keep track of how subscribers can join the Email Sequence, so you can make more informed decisions about whether and how to change it.

Here's how to view the Used in page for any Email Sequence, and how to read what the page shows you.

NOTE: Subscribers can also join Email Sequences via the API, connected apps, and manual and bulk adds. The Used in page doesn't reflect these other routes into the Sequence.

How to view your Email Sequence's Used in page

There are two ways of going to an Email Sequence's Used in page: from the Email sequences page, and from the Email Sequence editor.

From the Email sequences page

Go to Automation > Email sequences from the navigation.

On the Email sequences page, switch from the card view to the table view (if you aren't already on that view).

Click the text under the Used in column for any Email Sequence to open that Sequence's Used in page.

If an Email Sequence shows a "-" under the Used in column, it isn't being used in any Automations, Rules, or legacy Forms and Landing Pages yet. Clicking the "-" will bring you to the Email Sequence editor for editing the Sequence’s content instead.

From the Email Sequence editor

To view an Email Sequence's Used in page from the Email Sequence editor, open that Sequence and click the Used in tab at the top of the editor.

How to read the Used in page

The Used in page has three sections: Automations, Rules, and Forms & landing pages. Each section shows the first 100 items available.

None of the three sections will appear if you haven't used your Email Sequence in at least one Visual Automation or Rule.

NOTE: Subscribers can also join Email Sequences via the API, connected apps, and manual and bulk adds. The Used in page doesn't show these other routes for joining the Sequence.

Automations

The Automations section lists the Visual Automations you've added the Email Sequence to, along with each Visual Automation's status.

Click a Visual Automation's name to open it in the Visual Automations editor.

Rules

The Rules section lists the Rules associated with the Email Sequence, including each Rule's trigger, action, role, and status. Rules created by apps will also display "Created by [app name]."

Click a Rule's name to open it in the Rules editor.

Forms & landing pages

The Forms & landing pages section lists the legacy Forms and Landing Pages that add subscribers to the Email Sequence, or let them opt in to it, upon signup. This section won't appear if you haven't created any legacy Forms or Landing Pages.

This section lists each opt-in's type, role, and status. Click an opt-in's name to open it in the legacy Form editor.
