Everything you need to know about your Broadcast dashboard and stats.

Updated over a month ago

The Broadcast reporting dashboard bundles all of your Broadcast's stats in one place.

You can access it for any Broadcast you've already sent and/or published to the web by going to the Broadcasts page and clicking the Broadcast's title. (Clicking the View button next to the Broadcast on the Broadcasts page also works!).

From the Broadcast's reports, you can review its content, who it was sent to, who opened it, and who clicked your links.

With this information at your fingertips, you'll be able to tell how your Broadcasts are performing.

Here are the main features of the Broadcast reports:

Overview

The Overview page lets you review your Broadcast's content and key stats. You'll see different metrics based on whether you've sent this Broadcast as an email, published it to the web, or both.

For a Broadcast you've sent as an email, you'll see these email metrics (which will appear in gold):

  • The number of recipients

  • Open rate

  • Click rate

  • The number of unsubscribes

  • Bounce rate

  • The net ad revenue earned (after our 23.5% commission)

NOTE: Email metrics won't be available if you've set up an A/B test and the test is still running. That's because your Broadcast hasn't been sent to all your recipients yet.

For a Broadcast you've published to the web, you'll see these web metrics:

  • The number of post visits

  • The conversion rate (i.e., the percentage of users who subscribed to your email list via that post)

Analytics

The Analytics page will give you a deeper dive into your Broadcast's metrics.

If you had run an A/B test, you'll see the A/B test results at the top.

Next, you'll see an overview of these email metrics:

  • The total number of emails sent

  • The number and percentage of unsubscribes, complaints, and bounces

There's also an engagement funnel showing how your subscribers interact with your Broadcast.

NOTE: Email metrics won't be available if you've set up an A/B test and the test is still running. That's because your Broadcast hasn't been sent to all your recipients yet.

After that, you'll see an overview of these web metrics if you had published your Broadcast to the web:

  • The total number of visits

  • The conversion rate (i.e., the percentage of users who subscribed to your email list via this post)

There's also a chart showing the number of visits your Broadcast post has gotten over time.

Recipients

The Recipients page will give you a list of subscribers this Broadcast was sent to. You'll also be able to filter your subscribers by All, Opened, Clicked, and Unsubscribed.

From this page, you can use bulk actions to add (or remove) a Tag or Sequence from these subscribers, or export or delete them.

Clicks

On the Clicks page, you’ll find a list of links included in your Broadcast. For each link, you'll be able to see:

  • How many subscribers clicked the link

  • The click to delivery rate: i.e., the percentage of subscribers who clicked your link out of all the subscribers who received your email. It is calculated using this formula: the number of subscribers who clicked the link / the number of subscribers who received your email x 100%

  • The click to open rate: i.e., the percentage of subscribers who clicked your link out of all subscribers who opened your email. It is calculated using this formula: the number of subscribers who clicked the link / the number of subscribers who opened your email x 100%

If you're a Creator Pro plan user, you'll see an Edit option to the right of the link. Click it to change the link—even after your Broadcast has been sent. This is useful for fixing broken links.

If you click the link itself, you'll be directed to a new page where you can see which subscribers clicked the link.

You’ll also be able to use bulk actions to add (or remove) a Tag or Sequence from these subscribers, or export or delete them.

Tagging based on link clicks is a great way to segment your subscribers!

More actions

Edit

Click the Edit button at the top right of any Broadcast report page to edit your Broadcast's subject line, contents, and publish date.

Duplicate

If you’d like to copy your Broadcast's content and/or design, you can easily do this by clicking the three vertical dots at the top right of any Broadcast report page > Duplicate.

Resend to unopens

Our Resend to unopens feature allows you to send your Broadcast again to only the subscribers who hadn't opened it the first time around (learn more here).

You can access the feature by clicking the three vertical dots at the top right of any Broadcast report page > Resend to unopens.

Share

Click the Open button at the top right of any Broadcast report page to open your Broadcast as a webpage.

You can then copy its URL from your browser address bar for sharing with others.

NOTE: If you had published your Broadcast to the web, its URL will be the public URL you've set for it. If you hadn't, its URL will be its private archive link. Either URL will work for sharing your Broadcast with others.

Public feeds

Publishing your Broadcast to the web will cause it to appear in the newsletter feed of your Creator Profile or Landing Pages.

You can publish or unpublish your Broadcast from the web anytime. To do this, toggle on/off the Public option at the top right of any Broadcast report page accordingly.

Published date

Click the pencil icon for the Published date setting on your Broadcast report's Overview page to change your Broadcast's publish date. This is helpful in situations like migrating your newsletter archive from a different email platform to Kit.

Internal note

The internal note setting on your Broadcast report's Overview page lets you add an internal note to your Broadcast, or edit an existing one.

SEO settings

If you've published your Broadcast to the web, it's important to also update your Broadcast's SEO settings to help new audiences find it more easily. You'll find these settings in your Broadcast report's Overview page.

Using the SEO settings, you can:

  • Add a thumbnail to the Broadcast for your newsletter feed

  • Add alt text to help people using screen readers understand your image

  • Edit your Broadcast's URL slug

  • Update your Broadcast's meta description, which will be visible on the search engine results for your Broadcast, and its social shares

Click Save to save your changes.

Visibility settings

These settings control the Broadcast's visibility if you've published it to the web. You'll find them in your Broadcast report's Overview page.

If your Broadcast isn't published to the web, these settings will have no effect even if you adjust them.

Click the pencil icon in the Visibility settings section to access these settings:

  • Only display for paying subscribers: If you enable this option, users will need to be a paid subscriber of your newsletter product to read the Broadcast. Learn more about setting this up in our guide to paid posts.

  • Set as Featured on Creator Profile: Set this Broadcast as your Creator Profile's featured post.

Use the toggles to enable or disable the relevant setting.

And that's it! Our Broadcast reporting provides what you, as a creator, need to know to grow your audience and business.

NOTE: While there is no time limit on how long we'll track email data, we no longer

update email data for emails sent before Aug 1, 2023.
