The search bar lets you search your Kit account and use keyboard shortcuts to access your most commonly visited pages.
With the search bar, you can:
Search your subscribers, Tags, Segments, Broadcasts, Email Sequences, and Visual Automations
Create new Broadcasts, Email Sequences, Visual Automations, Landing Pages, Forms, Products, and Tips
Navigate to various pages in your Kit account, including Subscribers, Broadcasts, Landing Pages & Forms, Recommendations, Visual Automations, Email Sequences, and Apps
Navigate to your account settings, including Login details, Notifications, and Email
Access help resources, including contacting support and visiting our knowledge base
As a result, you'll spend less time clicking through pages to get to where you want to go.
How to use the search bar
To use the search bar, click it at the top of the navigation.
Alternatively, use these keyboard shortcuts from any page:
On a Mac: Command + K
On a PC: Ctrl + K
The search bar will launch. Scroll through its items or type into it to find the action you want to take. Once you've found the action, click it—or press your keyboard's return or Enter button—to run it.
Some actions have keyboard shortcuts (shown to their right in the search bar), which let you run the action without opening the search bar.
For example, if you want to search your Tags, you can:
Launch the search bar and click the Search Tags option, or
Type F followed by T on your keyboard without opening the search bar.
Searching for items
Once you've started a search for an item, enter this information to narrow your search:
If you're finding a… | Enter this into the search bar |
Subscriber | The subscriber's email address |
Tag, Segment, Email Sequence, or Visual Automation: | The item's name |
Broadcast | The Broadcast's subject line or preview text |
Partial searches are supported—you don't need to type the full name or email address to find what you're looking for. Results will appear as you type.
Tip for remembering keyboard shortcuts
Keyboard shortcuts consist of two letters: the first is the action you want to take. The second is the item you're looking for.
Options for the first letter are:
F for Find (i.e., searching for an item)
N for New (i.e., for creating a new item)
G for Go (i.e., navigating to a page)
Options for the second letter include:
T for Tag
B for Broadcast (or the Broadcasts page)
E for Email Sequence
A for Visual Automation
F for the Landing Pages & Forms page
For example, the keyboard shortcut for creating a new Broadcast is N + B, and the shortcut for navigating to the Landing Pages & Forms page is G + F.
