Kit + Eventbrite

Use the Eventbrite app to sync ticket buyers to Kit, track purchases, embed live event details in emails, and trigger Visual Automations when someone purchases a ticket.

Updated yesterday

With the Eventbrite app, you can leverage your events in four powerful ways:

  1. Sync Eventbrite attendees as subscribers in Kit with automatic Tags

  2. Track Eventbrite purchases inside Kit to segment paid attendees and personalize follow-ups

  3. Trigger automated email workflows the moment someone purchases a ticket

  4. Insert content blocks for live Eventbrite events into your emails with up-to-date event details and registration links

Getting started with Eventbrite

To use the Kit Eventbrite app, you need to:

  1. Have an active Eventbrite organizer account (with at least one organization)

  2. Have a paid Kit account

How to install the Eventbrite app

  1. Log in to your Kit account

  2. Click Automate > Apps in the top navigation

  3. Find the Eventbrite app and click Install

  4. Sign in with Eventbrite and approve the requested permissions

  5. You’ll be taken to the Eventbrite App settings flow

How to use the Eventbrite app

App settings

After authenticating with Eventbrite, you’ll land in the App settings flow. This is where you’ll choose which Eventbrite organization to connect, configure your sync preferences, set up custom field mapping, and review Tag settings.

Step 1: Choose your Eventbrite organization

First, select which Eventbrite organization you want to associate with this Kit connection.

You can connect only one organization per installation/connection.

Click Save and continue to proceed.

Step 2: Set up your sync preferences

The Sync preferences section lets you control what data syncs between Eventbrite and Kit.

  • Active subscribers: Sync new Eventbrite ticket buyers into Kit as subscribers. This creates or updates subscriber profiles in Kit as new ticket purchases occur.

  • Purchases: Sync order and ticket purchase details to enrich subscriber profiles with purchase history and revenue data.

  • Historical data: Optionally import existing Eventbrite data from before you installed the app (a one-time import). If you don’t enable this option, only data created after installation will be synced.

NOTE: You can return to the App settings anytime after installation to edit these preferences.

Step 3: Map your custom fields

In the Custom fields section, you can map selected Eventbrite fields to Kit subscriber custom fields.

Step 4: Configure your Tags

The Tags section shows the Tags that Kit will apply to subscribers synced from Eventbrite.

Mandatory Tag created by Kit:

  • Eventbrite: Applied to all ticket buyers who have been synced from your connected Eventbrite organization

Optional tags (if enabled):

  • Eventbrite_event:{name}: Tag per event, where {name} is the event name the attendee registered for

  • Eventbrite_ticket:{type}: Tag per ticket type, where {type} changes based on the ticket tier name

  • Eventbrite_checked_in: Applied when an attendee has checked in at the event

  • Eventbrite_refunded: Applied when an order has been refunded

Eventbrite purchase data in Kit

If you’ve enabled purchase syncing in the App settings, Eventbrite orders will appear in the Purchases tab of the subscriber’s profile in Kit.

You can use this purchase data, along with Tags and custom fields, for segmentation and automation conditions in your Broadcasts or Visual Automations.

Adding Eventbrite event blocks to emails

With the Eventbrite app, you can insert content blocks that display live Eventbrite details directly in your emails.

Here’s how:

  1. In the email editor, type /eventbrite and select Eventbrite Event

  2. Select the event: Choose which Eventbrite event you want to display from the dropdown in the sidebar

  3. Customize the display:

    • Title: Font, size, color

    • Date: Font, size, color

    • Location: Font, size, color

    • Price: Font, size, color

    • Button: Background color, text color, and CTA text

    • Description: Toggle on/off; if on, edit font, size, color

    • Block styling: Background color, corner radius, show/hide border

    • Spacing: Padding and margin

  4. Preview and send: Review how your event block looks before sending

Set up automations based on Eventbrite activity

Use Visual Automations to create Eventbrite-related automations

Once you have the Eventbrite app installed, you can trigger Visual Automations based on ticket purchases.

For example, you can create automations for:

  • New ticket purchases

  • A welcome email for new attendees

  • Pre-event reminder sequences

  • Segmenting by event, ticket type, or refunded orders

Here’s how to set it up:

  1. Go to Visual Automations under the Automate tab in the navigation. Click the + New automation button on the right

  2. Click the Start from scratch button

  3. In the entry point modal, select Event, and then choose Eventbrite

  4. Select Ticket Purchased

  5. Select your Event from the dropdown

  6. Choose a Ticket type (or choose Any ticket type)

  7. Add your follow-up steps (for example: apply a Tag, start a Sequence, or add branching conditions based on ticket type)
