Insert Supercast episode preview blocks into your emails to drive readers toward your membership

How to use the Supercast app
App settings
After authenticating with Supercast, you’ll land in the App settings flow. This is where you’ll choose which Supercast podcast channel to connect, configure your sync preferences, review custom field mapping, and confirm the default Tag that will be applied to synced subscribers.
Podcast channel
First, confirm that the Supercast podcast channel you want to sync with Kit is listed at the top of the App Settings page. Each API call is scoped to this channel.
NOTE: You can connect only one Supercast channel per installation or connection.
Click Save and continue to proceed.
Sync preferences
The sync preferences section lets you control what data syncs between Supercast and Kit. After installing the Supercast app, you can return to App settings to edit these preferences anytime.
Subscribers
Sync subscribers between Supercast and Kit. New Supercast subscribers will appear as Kit subscribers, and new Kit subscribers will be created in Supercast.
Charges
Sync Supercast charges into Kit as purchases. This lets you track membership revenue in Kit and use purchase data for segmentation and automations.
NOTE: Enabling charges performs a full import of charges each run because Supercast does not expose an incremental filter. We recommend keeping this off unless you specifically need purchase data in Kit.
Historical data
Optionally import your existing Supercast data into Kit when you install the app, based on the sync options selected above. If you don’t enable this option, only data created after installation will be synced.
NOTE: Consider pausing relevant automations before importing historical data. Imported subscribers can trigger new subscriber automations and rules.
Custom field mapping
Supercast supports basic custom field mapping so core subscriber information can sync into Kit fields.
The default mapping includes:
First name & Last name → First Name
Email → Email address
Tags
The Tags section shows which Tags will be applied to subscribers synced from Supercast.
Mandatory Tag created by Kit:
Supercast: Applied to every subscriber synced from Supercast
Supercast charge data in Kit
If you’ve enabled charge syncing in the App settings, Supercast charges will appear in the Purchases tab of the subscriber’s profile in Kit.
You can use this charge data, along with Tags and custom fields, for segmentation and automation conditions in your Broadcasts or Visual Automations.
Adding Supercast episode blocks to emails
With the Supercast app, you can insert a Supercast episode preview block that displays episode details directly in your emails. Use this block to promote a podcast episode and drive readers to join your paid membership.
NOTE: The CTA button currently links to your Supercast page, not to a specific episode.
Here’s how to insert a Supercast episode block into your emails:
In the email editor, type
/supercastand select the Supercast content blockSelect the episode: Choose which podcast episode you want to display from the dropdown in the sidebar
Customize the display:
Title: Font, size, and color
Button: Background color, text color, and CTA text
Description: Toggle on/off. If on, edit font, size, and color
Block styling: Update the available design settings to match your email
Preview and send: Review how your episode block looks before sending
Set up automations based on Supercast activity
Use Visual Automations to create Supercast-related automations
Once you have the Supercast app installed, you’ll be able to trigger automations based on membership activity.
The Supercast app includes two event nodes:
New Subscription: Triggers when someone joins a new subscription for a specific tier
Membership Cancelled: Triggers when a subscriber’s membership actually ends
NOTE: Membership Cancelled does not trigger when the subscriber cancels their membership. It triggers when the subscriber runs out of their paid period. For example, if someone cancels but still has 6 months left, the event won’t trigger until those 6 months are over.
For example, you can create automations for:
A welcome email for new members
Onboarding sequences for paid subscribers
Tier-specific follow-ups
Win-back or feedback flows when a membership ends
Segmenting subscribers by membership tier or purchase activity
New Subscription automation
This automation is perfect for creators who want to start an automation every time someone joins a specific Supercast tier.
Here’s how to set it up:
Go to Automation > Visual automations in the navigation. Click the + New automation button to the right
Click the Start from scratch button
In the entry point modal, select Event, then choose Supercast
Select New Subscription
Select the Tier you want to trigger the automation
Add your follow-up steps, such as sending a welcome sequence, applying a Tag, or branching based on subscriber details
Membership Cancelled automation
This automation is useful for creators who want to follow up when someone’s Supercast membership has fully ended.
Here’s how to set it up:
Go to Automation > Visual automations in the navigation. Click the + New automation button to the right
Click the Start from scratch button
In the entry point modal, select Event, then choose Supercast
Select Membership Cancelled
Select the Tier you want to trigger the automation
Add your follow-up steps, such as sending a feedback request, applying a churn tag, or inviting the subscriber to rejoin later
Supercast troubleshooting
I connected Supercast but don’t see any subscribers in Kit
Confirm you selected the correct Supercast podcast channel during setup
Make sure Subscribers sync is enabled in App settings
If you skipped historical import, only new subscribers after installation will appear
Charge data isn’t appearing
Make sure Charges is enabled in App settings
Confirm the charge completed successfully in Supercast
Remember that charge sync may perform a full import each run
Tags aren’t being applied correctly
Confirm the subscriber synced from the connected Supercast channel
The default Supercast Tag is Supercast
My Supercast episode block is not showing up
Make sure you’ve selected an episode from the dropdown in the sidebar
Try removing and re-adding the content block
Confirm the Supercast app is still connected
My Membership Cancelled automation didn’t trigger immediately after someone cancelled
This is expected. The event triggers when the subscriber’s paid period ends, not when they first cancel.

Frequently asked questions
Does the Supercast app cost extra?
No, the app does not cost anything extra. You can install it if you are on a paid Kit plan and have a Supercast account.
Can I connect multiple Supercast channels?
No—you can associate only one Supercast channel per installation or connection.
What happens if a subscriber already exists in Kit?
If a subscriber's email address already exists in Kit, the Supercast app will update fields and Tags on the existing subscriber instead of creating a duplicate.
Can I send people directly to a specific episode from the email content block?
Not currently. The CTA button links to your Supercast page, not to a specific episode.
When does the Membership Cancelled automation trigger?
The automation triggers when the subscriber’s paid period ends. If someone cancels today but still has time left on their membership, the automation will trigger when that remaining period runs out.
