Quick insights into your list health at a glance.

Creator Pro customers have access to subscriber scoring. With it, you can view a breakdown of your list's engagement based on a scale of 1–5 stars. Plus, you can incorporate this data into your list segmentation!

Let's dig in.

Engagement report breakdown

You can view your list's engagement reports by going to Subscribers under the Grow tab in the navigation, and clicking the Engagement option above the Subscribers graph:

There are two view options for this report: distribution and timeline. Click the down arrow next to the word "Engagement" to toggle between them:

Distribution view

The distribution view will look something like this:

Along the y-axis are the number of subscribers, and along the x-axis are the number of stars. The curve of the graph indicates how many subscribers are currently categorized in each star level.

The goal is for the right side of the graph to be higher than the left — because that means most of your subscribers are engaging with your content!

For additional stats, hover over your graph at any one of the star levels. You can see the number of subscribers categorized at that level and what that number has increased or decreased by, as well as the corresponding percentages:

Timeline view

The timeline view will look something like this:

The y-axis correlates with the percentage of your list, and along the x-axis is the date. The bands of color represent what percentage of your list was defined at each star level on that date. Darkest green is 5 stars; lightest green is 1 star.

For additional stats, hover over the graph at any date. You can see the exact number of your subscribers categorized at each star level on that date, as well as the corresponding percentage of your list:

You can adjust the timeline of the report from the date menu in the top right. Click the dates directly to adjust them manually, or use the menu icon to select a pre-defined range:

Star score definitions

Here's a quick breakdown of each star's "score":

  • ⭐️ = Subscribers who have not engaged with your content in the past 9 months.

  • ⭐️⭐️ = Subscribers who have engaged with your content in the past 9 months.

  • ⭐️⭐️⭐️ = Subscribers who have engaged with your content in the past 6 months.

  • ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ = Subscribers who have engaged with your content in the past 90 days.

  • ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ = Subscribers who have engaged with your content in the past 30 days, or purchased one of your products.

This info is also available per star level from the detail table in the distribution report view.

NOTE: While a subscriber's score is based on these general guidelines, the final score is influenced by additional internal metrics. As a result, the score may sometimes differ from these guidelines. When in doubt, please reach out to [email protected] and we will look into it for you.

Filtering the engagement graph

By default, the engagement graph will include all your subscribers. You can also filter it to dig deeper into the stats for particular subsets of your list.

Just click the filter icon near the top right of the graph, and it'll reveal the subscriber filtering options:

This allows you to view the engagement score for subscribers within particular tags, segments, and more.

NOTE: Setting up subscriber filters for your graph is the same as for creating a segment.

Create segments based on subscriber score

Finally, you can also use engagement score as criteria for your segments. When creating a segment, simply select "Engagement Score" from the filter dropdown:

Then, you can set the star-range that you want to filter by:

☝️ NOTE: To filter by subscribers within one particular star level (e.g. all subscribers with 3 stars), just enter the same value in both the "Minimum Stars" and "Maximum Stars" fields.

Once the engagement filter is added, it'll look something like the following:

And of course, engagement score filters can be combined with other filters in your segment, too!
