Creator Network Requests

Learn how to request other Creator Network creators' email addresses to kick off collaborations and how to manage your own email address's visibility.

It all starts with an ask

Requests are a feature that lets creators in the Creator Network ask for each other's email addresses and kick off potential collaborations.

Creators who are approved to view the email address of another creator will see it in the other creator's in-network profile:

Creators can also configure their email address's visibility. For example, you can make your email address visible only upon request or not share it with any other Creator Network creator.

Configuring your email address visibility

Configure how you want to share your email address, and which email address to share, by going to Audience growth > Recommendations in the navigation. Then, click Settings at the top right.

The Recommendations Settings window will appear. Click Sharing & privacy.

Under Share my email, use the dropdown menu to choose your email address's visibility:

  • Never share: No creator in the Creator Network can view or request your email address

  • Always share: All creators in the Creator Network can view your email address without requesting it

  • Only to people I recommend: Only creators you are currently recommending via Free Recommendations can view your email address. They don't need to request your email address first. No other creators on the Creator Network can view or request your email address.

  • Upon request: Creators can request your email address, and you can choose whether to approve or decline their Request. This is the default setting.

Below the dropdown menu, enter the email address to be shared with others. By default, this email address is your default sender email address.

Your email address will be shared only to the extent allowed by your email address visibility setting. For example, if you've set your email address's visibility to "Never share," then no creator in the Creator Network can view or request it.

Click Save to save your changes.

Requesting a creator's email address

To request another creator's email address, go to Audience growth > Recommendations in the navigation.

Then, click the creator's name on any Recommendations page (e.g., Recommendations or Discover) to open their in-network profile.

Under their in-network profile description, you'll see one of these options depending on the creator's email address visibility setting. Take the appropriate next step after that.

None—you cannot request their email address.

NOTE: The creator whose email address you're requesting can see your email address only if your own email address visibility setting allows it.

Managing your Requests

Find your received and sent Requests by going to Audience growth > Recommendations in the navigation. Then, click Requests at the top right.

To the left of the page, you'll be able to toggle between the Received and Sent views.

Here's how to manage your received and sent Requests:

Received Requests

The Received view shows the Requests you've gotten from other creators and these Requests' outcomes (i.e., "Pending," "Approved," or "Declined"):

NOTE: If your email address visibility setting is set to "Always share" or "Only to people I recommend," creators in the Creator Network may be able to view your email address on your in-network profile without first sending a Request.

Pending

Pending Requests are Requests you haven't taken action on yet.

For each pending received Request, you can:

  • Approve the Request to make your email address visible to the creator requesting it

  • Decline the Request to mark the Request as "Declined." The creator requesting your email address won't see a reason for your decision.

If our automated review system flags a Request as suspicious, you'll see a warning about this to help you decide whether to approve the Request.

NOTE: Turn email notifications for new pending Requests on or off using the Requests to connect setting in your account settings.

Approved

Approved Requests are Requests from creators you've shared your email address with.

If you no longer want to allow these creators to view your email address, click Revoke next to their Request.

NOTE: Creators who saved your email address can still email you even after you revoke their ability to view your email address.

Declined

Declined Requests are Requests from creators you've declined to share your email address with.

Sent Requests

The Sent view shows the Requests you've sent to other creators and these Requests' outcomes (i.e., "Pending," "Approved," or "Declined").

If a Request you've sent is still pending a response from the creator, you can cancel the Request. Approved and declined Requests cannot be canceled.

If a creator approves your Request, you can go to their in-network profile to copy their email address and email them.

Staying safe with Requests

Requests connect you with real people in the Creator Network, but it's worth taking a moment to verify who you're dealing with before you share your email address or start a collaboration.

Before approving a Request:

  • Check the creator's in-network profile. Does their content and audience match what they're asking you for?

  • Be cautious of pressure to respond fast or move the conversation off Kit right away. Real collaborations rarely need urgency.

  • If our automated review system flags a Request as suspicious, take a closer look before approving it.

If anything feels off, decline the Request. You don't owe an explanation, and you can decline without any risk to your Kit account.

You can also block the creator by clicking the three vertical dots to the right of their Request > Block creator. Read our other article to learn what happens when you block a creator.

NOTE: If you believe someone is impersonating a creator or attempting to phish you through a Request, report the creator by clicking the three vertical dots to the right of their Request > Report so we can look into this. Alternatively, contact Kit support for help.
